Here is a sweater I made for myself.

There is nothing more satisfying than to knit a garment and to either wear it yourself or see it worn by another. "How to books" are a good way to start and you will find very soon that you are into more difficult patterns. Making things for those around you shows you care for them and is a wonderful way to show it.
